Pasture Chickens

	We produce all of our chickens on rich pastures and this makes our chicken very different from what you can buy at the grocery store.
We start with a cornish cross day old chick- kept warm and safe in our brooder for 2 weeks.

2 weeks after their arrival on the farm, the chicks enter our pasture pens. The pasture pen will be their new home for the next 4 to 6 weeks. It keeps them safe from predators and bad weather.

The secret to raising delicious healthy birds is the floorless pasture pens. Where the birds roam on pasture 24 hours per day. The pen is moved by hand once or twice each day. No need for antibiotics because the birds immune system is not stressed.

These birds thrive on the pasture chasing grasshoppers, lying in the sunshine, and have an endless salad bar right underfoot.

They get their rich flavor from the clover and alfalfa pastures. And because we process at 6 to 7 weeks of age, they are always very tender.

Our chickens are available. These are a meaty, double breasted bird. These are 3 to 6 pounds in size. Because they are raised on our fresh alfalfa pastures they are high in omega 3. They are frozen in quality shrink wrapped bags and ready to go.
You can call to schedule a pick up from our farm. I am also in downtown Lakeville most afternoons, stopping by the post office. You can arrange to meet me there, too. (it is near the Lakeville farmer's market location).
