Our pastures are rich in alfalfa, clover, and grasses.
Our pigs are born and
raised on our pasture. Due to no stress or crowding, we have no need for antibiotics nor any preventative medications. We have found pasture raised, free rangers taste so much
better than conventionally raised.
All of our pork products are nitrate free and msg free. The bacon, ham, and sausages are all natural.

Rendering Lard
Home rendered lard is not only great tasting, but very good for you. We
rendered our lard and then canned it. Here is our lard, ready to be cut up in chunks and placed in the large stainless pot:
We used an outdoor turkey fryer to heat and melt the lard. It takes about 3-4 hours to render the lard into a clear liquid with cracklings.
We scooped out the crackings (to be used for various recipes) and poured the hot lard into sterile jars. You can either refigerate, or can as shown below:
